No experience necessary. \nMATERIALS (included) \nAll materials are included. Each student will receive a piece of American Wool cloth and have access to a wide variety of plants. \nDETAILS \nCome join us for an eco printing workshop with local fiber artist\, Jonatha Foli. Using locally foraged plant material rich with tannins and wool fabric milled in New England\, you will learn the history and techniques used to create an eco printed piece\, while creating your own\, truly unique piece. Your finished work can be used as a scarf or table runner. \nThere will be a 30+ minute lunch break while the steaming portion of the process is taking place. \nSpecial Notes: Please wear comfortable shoes and bring a notepad and pen. You may either bring a lunch\, or there are great restaurants nearby. We also gather and share our love of fiber during this time. SUMMARY:Knitting Mosaic Mittens at Fiber Circle Studio
DESCRIPTION:This is a 4 session in-person workshop. \nDATES/TIMES \n4 Saturdays\, February 25 – March 18\, 2023; 11:00am – 12:00pm \nCOST \n$100 \nLEVEL \nIntermediate/Advanced – Students should be confident with knit\, knitting in the round\, knitting stripes\, decreasing and pattern reading. \nMATERIALS (not included) \n\n2 skeins of fingering weight yarn in highly contrasting colors. Strongly recommended to be NOT superwash yarns. We love Biches et Buches le Petite Lambswool for this project!\nNeedle Size US 2.5 OR 3 – either a long circular for magic loop\, DPNs or shorties.\nPattern\n\nDETAILS \nMosaic is one of my favorite forms of colorwork! You can create a diversity of incredible patterns with more simplicity than traditional colorwork. These mitts combine a very basic stranded technique for the cuff and then move into the mosaic colorwork for the body of the mitten. \nLearn how to work these 2 styles of colorwork\, in addition to a thumb gusset and decreasing in pattern! Each 1 hour session will focus on a new technique! \nHOMEWORK\nPurchase pattern. Pick your size and cast on the number stitches called for.
