SUMMARY:4-Week Sewing Lab at Marin Sewing Lab (Evening sessions)
DESCRIPTION:Sewing Lab at the Marin Sewing Lab is a 4-week session with a 2.5-hour class per week. There are usually one daytime Sewing Labs and one evening Sewing Labs during each session. As a bonus to students\, I allow one free-of-charge make up class per session. (should there be available space in another weekly sewing lab\, and it almost always is). Each week I demonstrate a sewing technique. The demonstration is usually 15 minutes long and cover basic sewing techniques. \nIf you are brand new to sewing\, I highly recommend that you take a private class initially\, to acquaint yourself with your machine and learn the very basics of machine sewing. I offer an introduction package of a two-hour private class + one Sewing Lab four-week session for $395. There is a library of patterns of simple beginner projects available for free in the classroom. Some sewing supplies are available for purchase at the studio. There is a serger and a cover machine for student perusal as well as a manual snap fastening press. \nAll classes are taught at 64 Louise Street in San Rafael. Cancellation policy: Two weeks prior to class are fully refundable\, thereafter only if a wait listed person accepts the opening.\n\nWhy come to Sewing Lab?\nA love of adornment is one of our most basic tendencies. It exists in all cultures telling stories about who we are and how we see ourselves. Come together in this class to make your own simple clothing and hone your sense of style. Be inspired to develop your skills in a group of supportive women. Making your own clothing is a perfect alternative and compliment to buying ready-made clothing! It gives you a perfect playground to choose your own colors\, styles and fabric quality. However\, if you rather sew home textiles and accessories at Sewing Lab there is a pattern library of easy styles of zipper pouches\, accent pillow cases\, tote bags etc. Free of charge and always at your disposal! Enjoy the easy make-up-missed-class protocol. The Slow Fashion movement has a presence at Sewing Lab! There are many fabric companies that now produces regenerative sustainable fibers and fabrics.\nPlease contact me here to register or to get your questions answered! \nWho comes to Sewing Lab?\nMost students come to Sewing Lab because they want to learn to make their own simple clothing but many come to work on special interest projects; home textiles and mending for instance. Some have signed up because they have a small business and want to polish up the construction of their wares. Some advanced or intermediate sewists come to be part of a supportive group and for expert guidance.  Sewing Lab is scheduled in 4 week sessions. Each weekly class is 2.5 hours. You may choose evening or daytime sewing lab. Bring your own machine\, project and supplies. Class size is max 5 students. Please contact me if you want more information or to register for a class!
