ABIGAIL SHIELDS is a natural dye educator and wool enthusiast. She comes from a farming background and has been working to bring both food and fiber together in a way that is fluid and sustainable. Abigail believes being grounded in the small scale is intuitive and allows for a more ecological based approach to food and fiber systems. The more interwoven these systems are the more resilient our local communities and small farms become. Her intention is to create a space for learning and exploration around food, natural dyes, and fiber arts. She offers workshops centered around natural plant dyes grown at the Fibershed Learning Center, as well as wool processing, dyeing, and spinning.
