Event Navigation
Every year, Shetland Islanders open their doors to knitters from around the world. Shetland Wool Week draws hundreds of folks to these beautiful islands. There is also an “official” hat, and the pattern is posted for free on the website.
The pattern for 2018 is perfect for beginners. It’s called “Merrie Dancers Toorie” and is designed by Elizabeth Johnston. If you’ve been yearning to try stranded knitting, this is the project for you.
Materials to bring:
- Five colors of DK weight yarn. One should be dark gray or black, and the others should be bright and light to contrast with the dark and each other.
- US4/3.5 mm circular needles, 40 cm long
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
One, three-hour session $75
