Knitting Bootcamp

THIS IS A 4 SESSION CLASS; 3 hours each. May 11, 18, 25, + June 1; 10:30 – 1:30

Know a lot of basic knitting techniques, but are ready to dive into all the knitty gritty, juicy stuff?

This 4-week course focuses on a different fundamental topic each week!

Week 1: Various Cast ons + binds offs
Week 2: Various increases + decreases
Week 3: Gauge – the how + why
Week 4: Professional Finishing – weaving, seaming + blocking

WHAT TO BRING (each class we will be using slightly different tools.)
Week 1: light colored worsted weight wool yarn (highly recommend cascade 220 in natural), 2 pairs of needle size 8 (circulars preferred, but straight will do)
crochet hook (g, h or i)
Week 2: light colored worsted weight wool yarn (highly recommend cascade 220 in natural), 1 pair of needle size 8 (circulars preferred, but straight will do)
Week 3: pen + paper, hard edge ruler or gauge ruler, 3- 6″x6″ swatches; Cast on 30 stitches and work 3 different swatches using the following 3 stitch patterns: stockinette, garter + seed stitch
Week 4: 4- 2″x2″ swatches (2 garter, 2 stockinette), Any projects you have questions about blocking, tapestry needle, 1″ 3 ring binder, handful of sheet protectors

Ages: 18+
Skill Requirements: Proficient at casting on, knitting, purling, binding off and reading a basic pattern.
