October 31, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Event Navigation

October 31 + November 7, 2020

1st Session: 12 – 4pm PST

2nd Session: 12 – 1pm PST

This is a virtual class.

The Rigid Heddle Loom is portable and affordable. It’s a great tool for exploring weaving, using up your stash, and trying something new.

Join Sonoma County’s professional artist and instructor, Marta Shannon, for a 2 session ZOOM class to learn the basics of setting up your Rigid Heddle loom and how to weave your very own handwoven scarf.

Day one will focus on design, calculations, carefully warping your loom, and finally weaving.

Day 2 will focus on taking your scarf off your loom and finishing techniques.

Open to new and experienced weavers.

Students must have their own or purchase a rigid heddle loom. Yarns should be balled up and ready to use.

Materials are NOT included. Materials information will be sent via e-mail after registration.

Please download and test Zoom prior to the class. It is highly recommended to use a laptop, instead of phone or ipad for this. A video link will be sent 5 minutes prior to the class.

Ages: 18+
Skill Requirements: None
Taught by: Marta Shannon
