What does it mean when sheep “look wormy”? How do we know if worms are actually the problem? Are we running out of options to manage intestinal worms? The “Spring Bloom” is coming and we’re not talking about the flowers.

This class will cover:
- Getting comfortable with the gut: the anatomy of the sheep gastrointestinal (GI) tract, the whole system, what it is,and its parts
- Anatomy, including and via necropsy
- What a normal, healthy gastrointestinal system looks like
- How abnormal things happen
- A simple, portable kit for field necropsy and how to do that, including taking, labeling and transporting samples
- Introduction to parasites, including round worms and coccidia
- How to recognize and control parasite load
- FAMACHA introduction, demonstrations and certification
