Family Needle Felting for Beginners with Robyn Smith
March 26, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm$75
A workshop for parents and children
Join us at the beautiful Fibershed Learning Center on Black Mountain Ranch near Point Reyes Station, CA, for a family workshop on beginning needle felting taught by Robyn Smith of Spiritplay Toys.
Included are a basic intro to tools, the techniques of designing a form, and working with wool to create a sheep or other shape — creating the core, layering, sculpting and finishing.
This is a group class with children ages six and older invited to participate with a parent or parents. (Babes in arms or younger siblings welcome under adult supervision.) Limited to 6 families.
Adults may create one or several sheep. Children may create sheep, as well having the freedom to create what comes organically to them. It is a process-oriented experience for children and the product is the freedom to learn and create. Adults will leave with a good sense of how to guide their children at home with simple needle felting projects.
Felting needles, local wool batting, and felting sponges will be provided for use at the event. Take home a flyer with basic info and a material resource list and guide, and of course your felted animal friends!
